The Collective Effort
Books by Chance uses a few different fundraising methods, a couple of which direct money to our Education and Environment Fund on a continual basis. From the Fund, we make donations to charities in the Ann Arbor area.
In addition to the fact we put a portion of every sale into the Fund, we also give our consignment clients the option to supplement our effort with a portion of their own earnings. The percentage of the contribution is up to the client. Whether they choose to give 1% or 100%, every penny helps.
The collective effort of our clients generates significant funds for charitable organizations on a continual basis.
Currently Books by Chance supports the following organizations:
HRWC is a coalition of concerned citizens, government groups, and businesses, working to improve the health of the Huron River Watershed in southeast Michigan.
"826michigan is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Our services are structured around our belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success."
